If you’re tired of using the same set of hashtags with little to zero results… then let me show you how to create your own hashtags lists. (No more guessing!)

How to create your own Instagram hashtag lists

Look, I get it. It’s easy to copy and paste other people’s hashtags… Anyone can do that. Heck I’ve had clients do that before! But doing that won’t get you more or the same results. In fact, you’ll get nothing because you’re using the same set over and over and the system is thinking you are a complete spam bot… 🙁

Oh no! So what do you do? The best thing to do is to create your own personal hashtag lists! Yes, that’s right! If you want bigger results then you have to create lists that are related to your niche/industry. And honestly, there’s no one like you. Your content isn’t the same as those other influencers. Your journey is different and your story is different too.

When using hashtags the right way and by that I mean in a way that benefits you, then you’re on track to attracting a high vibe tribe and those dreamy clients.

Yes! Hashtags are super powerful.

If you read my blog post on how to explode your Instagram growth by using hashtags you know I shared a piece there that explains how to break down your hashtags into three parts.

But I want to expand on this because there’s more to it. And there are other ways to build hashtags lists that are more targeted to your client when you categorize.

Here’s what I mean.

Create your lists

When you categorize you get more specific with who you want to attract as a client or a member of your own tribe. This hack allows you to get uber specific and gives you more clarity all at the same time.

Let me explain.

We know we can’t use the same set of hashtags over and over again. What you can do is you can create “lists” that will help identify your ideal client.

Here you go.

Your list should include the following:

  1. Industry (beauty, wellness, marketing, etc)
  2. Title (marketing strategist, wellness blogger, etc)
  3. Interests (financial freedom, holistic health, etc)
  4. Goals (become debt free, lose weight, etc)
  5. Problems (stress, debt, burn out, etc)
  6. Service (wellness products, coaching, etc)

Add these to a spreadsheet so it’s easy to fill in and the more you add the better. You’ll see soon. 😉

categories for hashtag lists

Look for hashtags

The next thing you want to do is research. With Instagram’s new keyword search, you’re able to find content 10x easier.

Before you were only able to search using #bohemianwedding or accounts but now you can type in keywords meaning you’ll get variations under bio’s, usernames, and content using that specific keyword.

Start by opening Instagram. Then go to search and type one item from your sections. For example, you can type “bohemian wedding” and you should get posts that are related to that.

By building hashtag lists you’re now able to find posts that relate to your ideal client.

And when you click through each of the posts you are also able to see which hashtags your potential clients are actually using for more targeted results.

Talk about getting major visibility! Boom!

I know you’re loving this. Once you fill in your sections then you can create hashtag lists. Make sure to create a new tab to add your hashtags by category.

There you have it. Your own set of personalized hashtags that you can switch up every time. No more waiting!

If you just need a little extra help… You can use this Display Purposes to find more hashtags. It will pull relevant hashtags. But don’t worry, banned and spammy tags are filtered out. So you’re all set. Let me know you found this helpful.
