If you’re looking to make some money to move out of your moms house or you’re starting a new business venture. Then, let me give you some tips so you can start making some cash like now!
Since I was a little girl I always wanted to sell something, whether it was handmade bracelets, necklaces or any other type of jewelry that I could make so I could sell and make a little bit of money. My dad had that entrepreneur mindset so he always found ways to make money.
1. Sell Handmade items.
Like I mentioned earlier, I used to sell jewelry when I was little and even in my teen years I would make ponytails and headbands with colorful flowers and buttons. It was so fun to make them, I remember selling some on Etsy and thought it was so cute and adorable.
This is such a great way to show your great works because if you love making things all you need is a little bit of creativity to sell. No, you don’t have to go door to door to sell. Everything nowadays is sold online.
2. Clean homes.
I also remember working for a small owner in helping clean his bed and breakfast facility he had. He needed a ton of help with cleaning bathrooms, patios, bedrooms, and kitchen.
I took it because I needed extra money and even though it wasn’t my thing I knew it was temporary. So, I did it anyway. The great thing about it is I learned how to clean better and it allowed me to gain skills I didn’t have. I was getting paid $10 an hour plus tips I was getting for cleaning. I thought it was awesome. And had plenty of money to spare.
3. Apps that pay you to shop.
This is a new one for me. I never thought this thing would work but I gave it a try anyway. I found this excellent app on Pinterest by mistake because I was needing a little extra money and I thought I already shop at the grocery store, it makes sense if I buy something I get a few credits from buying it.
The app is called Ibotta. I suggest this one in particular because you can set up your Paypal and get paid after you reach $20. They add items weekly. And have stores like Target, Dollar Store, Krogers, Walmart and much more.
They also have clothing stores you can shop at as well. I thought this is a no-brainer. You can also refer friends and they earn $10 while you earn $5 for referring them. Use my code to get started UICDVNI this is all in lower case by the way.
4. Child Care.
Even though I didn’t have the opportunity to help a friend out with taking care of her kids. I still had to watch my niece on occasion. I must say you can earn up to $9 an hour watching kids for a period of time. Especially now that most moms are always on the go or single and need help. You can always ask your friends for help or if you’re really good with kids you can go and offer your services to your local community.
5. Uber.
So, Uber was fun because you would meet all kinds of people all the time. Whether they were in College, or entrepreneurs or whatever, you could always start a nice funny conversation with them and they would open up to you.
You’re pretty much their personal driver. You can choose your hours anytime you want. You’re your own boss at it. Just start the app and log in and it would automatically tell you when it was time to pick up someone.
The rates vary in different states depending on how busy they are. I know when I did it when I lived in Knoxville, TN they had the football games and those days the rates would go really high, meaning it would benefit you and the customer would have to pay a little more extra due to lack of drivers.
It had just started in that area so most people didn’t know it was available. I would get paid weekly and I used to do it during the night because that was the only time I had. So pick and choose the times available for you and always look your best if you want your customers to leave you an extra tip.
6. Sell Unused furniture.
Another great thing I tried was selling furniture I didn’t use. And since I was in the process of moving it worked out perfect.
I joined a Facebook group in the area. This was awesome because you could meet people nearby and you could charge a reasonable amount to sell that particular item. There are many different local groups on Facebook that you can join.
I also tried Craigslist, it was helpful but not always because you have to be careful with who you talked to since there are so many scams out there. So always protect yourself.
I also tried selling others things on eBay, by far this has been a great way to make extra money since most people will negotiate with you. You can always get a good price. They do charge a little fee per month, I think is about 12% of what you sell monthly, however, they do offer specials so you don’t have to pay too much for posting items.
So there you have it, these are just a few ways you can earn and save money all at the same time. Be serious about saving and investing your money in the right place because only you know exactly what you need to grow your expertise and your business. I know this will help you create a little extra so you can create the life and business you love. Talk to you soon.
